From tomorrow Victorians will no longer have to wear masks while outdoors as part of the state’s next step out of lockdown.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed changes to the state’s mandatory mask rules that will take effect from midnight.
Masks will still be required in all settings indoors, including on public transport, but will no longer be mandatory outdoors, given social distancing is maintained.
“Masks, which have played a very important part in delivering these low numbers … will be required inside in all settings, they will not be required when you are outside,” Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said.
“However you need to carry the mask with you because you will have to wear the mask outside if you can’t socially distance.
“For example, you’ll still need to keep your mask on if you’re at a busy outdoor market – or in line for a snag at your local Bunnings.”
