In the aftermath of getting caught red-handed violating his own travel and gathering restrictions, California Governor Gavin Newsom has exempted an entire industry\u2019s workforce from those restrictions citing them as \u201cessential workers.\u201d But are they, really?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Newsom was recently forced to eat crow after attending a friend and political adviser\u2019s 50th birthday party at a swank, upscale Napa County restaurant for a $400 a plate dinner. Newsom apologized after being publicly humiliated by the San Francisco Chronicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Astoundingly, Newsom then refused to intervene<\/a> when many in his own State Legislature opted to attend a summit produced by a San Diego firm that violated the travel ban in place to host the summit in Maui, Hawaii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Newsom has issued a new round of COVID-related restrictions, including a stay-at-home order, a curfew, limiting the size of private venue gatherings, and travel bans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Andrew Cuomo joins the well deserved ranks of a famous rapist and other rogues when he receives the International EMMY Founders Award.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n However, for some unknown and suspicious reason, the whole of the entertainment industry is exempted from the restrictions, covered under Newsom\u2019s exemptions clause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The order requires \u201cgenerally that non-essential work, movement and gatherings stop between 10pm and 5am in counties in the purple tier.\u201d The \u201cpurple tier\u201d essentially covers every county in Southern California and 94 percent of the state\u2019s population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But Newsom\u2019s draconian edict does not<\/em> apply to entertainment industry workers.
