Victoria will end its snap five-day lockdown as planned at 11:59pm on Wednesday as long as coronavirus cases don’t make a last-minute surge.
The Herald Sun is reporting the reopening of schools and return of crowds to the Australian Open competition but has indicated other tough rules could remain in place.
During Tuesday’s press conference Premier Daniel Andrews said the state was “well placed” to exit lockdown as planned but refused to make a definitive decision.
Victorian Ministers are expected to meet at 8:00am on Wednesday to finalise the decision and discuss reopening plans.
