A funeral service was held for former first lady Lady Bird Johnson at the Riverbend Centre in Austin, Texas. Eulogies were delivered by Mrs. Johnson’s daughters and granddaughters, Bill Moyers, and others. Music was provided by several groups.
Some of the dignitaries in attendance were former President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, former President and Mrs. Clinton, former first lady Nancy Reagan, former first lady Barbara Bush, and Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Due to technical transmission difficulties from the site, the service was interrupted on two occasions.
