Millions of Australians now required to get a FOURTH ‘winter dose’ of the Covid jab as fears of HORROR flu season forces new health advice but there’s good news if you are flying – here’s when to book your next jab
- Millions of Australians will be asked to get a fourth dose of the Covid vaccine
- ATAGI made second booster recommendation to the federal government
- Residents aged over 65 and immunocompromised among groups to get dose
Up to five million Australians will be asked to get a fourth dose of the Covid vaccine this winter – as the country braces for a horror coronavirus and flu season.
Doctors will give the so-called ‘winter dose’ some four-to-six months after a resident has received their booster shot. It can be given at the same time as the flu jab.
It comes as the country takes a seismic step back to ‘normal’ – with pre-flight Covid testing for overseas travellers to Australia dropped from April 17.
Health Minister Greg Hunt announced the Federal government will end its biosecurity declaration from that date – and will allow cruise ships to return to the country.
