Sky News host Peta Credlin says by the end of 2020 there could be more people lost to suicide in Victoria than to coroanvirus.
Ms Credlin spoke of recent suicide data released by Victoria’s Coroners Court, which presented the September update, revealing 530 people have so far taken their own life this year in the state.
“Very sadly, more boys under the age of 18 in nine-months alone, than we’ve ever seen in Victoria over a full 12-month period have taken their life this year,” Ms Credlin said.
“Surely this must tell the premier these lockdowns have to end,” she said.
Sky News host Peter Gleeson said “people’s mental health has been absolutely challenged during this period”.
