Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly announced 21 new cases in the country on Monday with no new COVID deaths “for some time”.
“Hospitalisations remain extremely low, there are only 22 persons in hospital for COVID in Australia; no person in intensive care,” he said.
Mr Kelly said there had been 173 cases over the past seven days, with roughly half of those in the Northern Beaches and the other half in overseas quarantine.
He urged Australians displaying symptoms, those linked with an exposed site or infected persons to present for testing immediately.
He also said the Avalon cluster had reached 92, with 90 of those close contacts with the known places where the transmission happened, and the other two residents of Avalon.
