Qantas CEO Alan Joyce is facing backlash online for his move to mandate a coronavirus vaccination for all travellers wishing to board international flights.
Mr Joyce announced – once a vaccine is distributed and made freely available – it will be non-negotiable for international passengers to receive a vaccination.
He said he will look to change the airline’s terms and conditions to make it mandatory, and flagged potentially establishing an electronic vaccination passport system.
“What we’re looking at is how you can have a vaccination passport, an electronic version of it, that certifies what the vaccine is, is it acceptable to the country you’re travelling to, so there’s a lot of logistics,” Mr Joyce revealed last night on A Current Affairs.
The move has received mixed responses from travellers, however, calls are mounting on Twitter to boycott the airline if vaccinating is made compulsory.
