Commercial litigator Caroline Di Russo says Bitcoin is the “nouveau gold of this generation” as the price jumps to over $40,000 AUD.
“It has had its ups and downs but I think particularly this year where you’ve seen really tumultuous economic and political circumstances, where you’ve seen loss of confidence in banks,” she told Sky News host Cory Bernardi.
Ms Di Russo said people are choosing Bitcoin over more traditional currencies because the “limited nature of Bitcoin” means it can reach higher values.
“I see it as a loss of confidence in the conventional system of money.”
