    Australians should be eligible for a Covid booster shot just two months after getting their second vaccine dose to help battle the country’s growing case load, a top epidemiologist has said.

    As it stands, 88 per cent of Australians are blocked from getting the much-needed booster shots – which studies show are vital to stopping the new Omicron variant – thanks to the current five month waiting period.   

    The Federal Government announced the mandatory waiting period earlier this week, dropped from six weeks, but now scientists are recommending the period be cut back to just two months.
